Off Kilter is an editorial magazine that explores the psychology behind why people are drawn to or repelled by horror. The publication leans into tension and contrast, using design as a tool to mirror the emotional unease that defines the horror genre.

Each spread is intentionally “off” with expressive, irregular typography and disrupted layouts that challenge traditional editorial structure. Black-and-white imagery creates a stark foundation, while sharp hits of bright color cut through the page, heightening a sense of urgency and discomfort. The combination is meant to feel comfortably uncomfortable, resulting in an immersive reading experience that not only discusses horror, but actively makes the reader feel it.
